"We saw two new world auction records in our inaugural Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, “Scenery of Hong Kong” by Liu Kuo-sung (B. 1932) and “30 Letters to Qiu Jiawa” by Qiu Zhijie (B. 1969). The saleroom was full of energy, with enthusiastic bidding from across Asia, the Americas and Europe. The selection of artists was very well received, in particular Hong Kong artists who made their debut appearances at Christie's auctions, such as Koon Wai Bong (B. 1974), Leung Kui Ting (B. 1945) and Wucius Wong (B. 1936), as well as Taiwanese artist Lee Chun-Yi (B. 1965).
