战后及当代艺术 (日间拍卖)
拍卖简介
As part of the 20th Century season at Christie’s, our Post-War and Contemporary Art auctions take place on 11 and 12 February, featuring some of the leading masters of this explosive period in the history of art.
The Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction celebrates the art of portraiture in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Led by Michaël Borremans’ 2006 painting The Banana, sold to benefit the Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, works by Thomas Schütte, Georg Baselitz and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye chart the development of the genre from the 1960s to the present day. This outstanding grouping is juxtaposed with a selection of works based on the theme of creative destruction, examining the radical break with tradition made by artists such as Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Antoni Tàpies and the Japanese Gutai group in the aftermath of the Second World War.
