Standing Nude with a Towel: two states (B. 9)
two soft-ground and aquatints, circa 1879, on D & C Blauw laid and laid paper watermark E & B respectively, both atmospheric, experimental impressions, Breeskin's first and third states (of four), both with margins, both with pale light- and mat staining, surface soiling, occasional handling creases, a few stray foxmarks, pencil notations at the lower margin edge, soiling on the reverse, hinge and glue remains in places at the reverse of the upper margin edge (with associated skinning), (first state) with spots of green moisture staining showing through from the reverse, the paper partially split along the platemark, a ¾-in. tear at the upper right margin edge, a few minute tears and minor rippling at the margin edges, (third state) with a few small spots of blue and orange ink in places, areas of stray black ink in the margins, uneven staining at the reverse of the image (slightly showing through), otherwise both in good condition
