etching, circa 1881, on Van Gelder, Breeskin's only state, with full margins (deckle along three sides), the palest light- and time staining, minor surface soiling, R. Hartshorne's inkstamp at the reverse of the lower image edge (showing through), the paper partially split along the platemark, occasional soft handling creases, a few dark scuffs in the lower right margin, hinge and glue remains along the reverse of the left margin edge (associated skinning), otherwise in good condition
