The following nine lots, 103 to 111, are rare specimens of Rolex's illustrious production spanning most of the 20th century. They have been selected by a European connoisseur for their quality, rarity and condition. Interestingly, the non-Oyster models take a more prominent position in this offering than the celebrated water-resistant watches from the family with screw backs. In fact, some of Rolex's pre-war production with snap on backs are so rare that certain references aren't even mentioned in literature. Most notably one should highlight for this group the highly unusual reference 2835 (lot 104). Chronographs, always one of Rolex's flagship complications, are also well represented with several unusual references: the very rare square references 3529 in pink gold and in stainless steel are as exciting to a spoiled scholar as the little known round references 2918 and 4313. No Rolex collection can ever be complete without an Oyster Chronograph and a Cosmograph, here properly represented by gold examples of references 6265/6263 and 6234.

Reference 4062 was in production from 1942 until around 1963 and made in yellow and pink gold, stainless steel and in stainless steel and gold.
