With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvery opaline-white dial and yellow gold indexes in 1991 and its subseqeunt sale on 24 January 1992.

The present lot is fresh to the market.

Reference 3940, in production from 1985 until 2006, was available in different case materials, platinum being the rarest. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 292-293.
