The Sea-Dweller reference 1665 was launched in 1967, and was the first wristwatch designed for use in saturation diving, fitted with a Rolex patent valve in the band and guaranteed waterproof to 610 meters depth. The present watch is from the so-called "Mark III" or "Mk 3" series of the "Double Red" Sea-Dweller, distinguished by the printing on its dial. The two double red lines are different sizes: the second line, "Submariner 2000" is smaller than the first line "Sea-Dweller", and the tips of the Rolex coronet and oval at the base are clearly defined. The present watch stands out with its appealing original overall condition, beautifully aged luminous numerals and hands, and tropical brown bezel.
