"I was a young naive undergraduate at CalArts in the Program in Experimental Animation in fall 1984. Baldessari's reputation had preceded him. I took one of his art classes. He was gracious enough to offer me a critique. I will never forget it because he had so much presence. It was pretty basic but much needed. He asked me WHY?" -Jennifer Steinkamp (Film/Video BFA 84)

Other works from the edition are currently in the collections of the Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha and Felton Properties, Portland
Judy Crook is part of an on-going series where teachers are honored with tree dedications. The first of the series was in honor of Miss Znerold, Steinkamp's first grade teacher who singled her out as making the best sponge trees in the class. Judy Crook taught color theory at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA; she was an amazing color theorist and inspirational teacher.
