This early drawing from 1999 by Moshekwa Langa was produced after the artist graduated from the Rijksakademie in the Netherlands. Drawing is central to Langa’s practice, and here we find him playfully tackling his preferred subject of the everyday, comically rendering a snake as a friendly, inquisitive visitor rather than a menacing intruder into the viewer’s space.
