The Modern British Art Evening Sale realised a total of £5,491,800 / $8,819,831 / €6,809,832.

André Zlattinger Director, Head of Modern British Art, Christies London and Rachel Hidderley, Christie’s International Specialist and Director, Modern British Art: “While we saw selective bidding in parts of this evening’s auction we also witnessed some fantastic prices including those for Allen Jones, (Lot 17), Joe Tilson (Lot 13), and Duncan Grant (Lot 60), all of which achieved record prices. As well as British clients, we welcomed bidding from collectors around the world including Asia and the Middle East. The works of art from The Peter Langan Collection almost doubled pre-sale expectations and we look forward to offering more works from the collection in ‘Peter Langan: A Life with Art’ at Christie’s South Kensington on 18 December.”
