Christie’s is pleased to announce our upcoming Photographs auction, to be held on 17 May at King Street. Coinciding with Photo London, this sale of classic, modern and contemporary photographs underscores London’s status as the prime European Spring-season venue for collectors in the category. The auction features key images by Thomas Ruff, Candida Höfer, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Robert Mapplethorpe and Irving Penn as well as recent works by contemporary talents, Hassan Hajjaj, Rødland Torbjørn and Jackie Nickerson. Unique prints by Wolfgang Tillmans, Tom Fels and Julie Cockburn are offered alongside fashion photographs by Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton and Juergen Teller.
