This November, Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale features an exceptional selection of works by some of the most important names in 20^th century art, alongside paintings by some of today’s most exciting contemporary artists. David Hockney’s iconic ‘pool painting’, Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) from 1972, Mark Rothko’s sumptuous Untitled (Rust, Blacks on Plum), and Francis Bacon’s masterpiece, Study of Henrietta Moraes Laughing, are featured alongside monumental paintings by Helen Frankenthaler. Property from the François and Susan de Menil Collection and Property from the Collection of Harry W. and Mary Margaret Anderson round out this highly anticipated auction.
