拍賣簡介
Christie’s is pleased to announce the Prints & Multiples sale on July 25th, which will offer a strong and stimulating selection of Post-War & Contemporary, Modern and Old Master works with examples by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Jim Dine, John Baldessari, Ellsworth Kelly, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Rembrandt, among others. Highlighting an impressive selection from several important collections is a group of Rufino Tamayo Mixografia® prints from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, seventeen lots from the Reader’s Digest Association, as well as selections from the estates of the esteemed collector Mitch Miller and prominent art historian Leo Steinberg.
The sale, comprising 339 lots, will afford new and seasoned collectors exceptional opportunities to develop and grow their collections with the likes of Joseph Beuys’s witty Noiseless Blackboard Eraser (estimate: $1,500-2,500), Lucio Fontana’s perforated print Concetto Spaziale (estimate: $3,000 -5,000), Nam June Paik’s V-Idea (estimate: $4,000-6,000) which recalls his monumental constructions using televisions, and the sale’s cover lot, Russell Young’s powerful and unapologetic representation of Sid Vicious (estimate: $2,500-3,500). Further highlights include 15 ceramics by Pablo Picasso, following the recent success of the Picasso Ceramics: The Madoura Collection sale in South Kensington. The group is led by Engraved Bottle (estimate: $10,000-15,000).
