Cal. 234 nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, glucydur balance, gray matte dial with luminescent numerals and hands, magnified aperture for date at 6 o'clock, two blue subsidiary dials with white and orange chapter rings indicating constant seconds and 45 minutes register, blue outer ring with orange 5 minute divisions, circular water-resistant-type case signed ORIGINAL OYSTER CASE BY ROLEX GENEVA, rotating blue bezel calibrated for hours, screw-down crown and pushers, screw back, case, dial and movement signed, with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and deployant clasp

The brand Tudor was introduced by Rolex around 1945 with the aim of supplying high quality watches at affordable prices. Although Rolex never advertised their connection to Tudor they supplied, amongst other parts, the Oyster cases. The symbol of the brand was the Tudor rose until around 1960 when it was replaced by the shield which is still in use to date. The line of models comprised also Submariner and Cosmograph watches considered as reliable and durable as their "big sisters". With their varied and colourful "exotic" dials these watches have become extremely popular amongst collectors.
