With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1987 and its subsequent sale on March 17th of the following year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe presentation box

To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.

The reference 3878 has been in production since 1981. This is the only self-winding skeletonized wristwatch produced by Patek Philippe. To date it is thought that approximately 500 pieces have been produced.

A similar model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches, by O. Patrizzi, Volume 2, p. 258, plate 1097.
