Lot Essay

Simon Vissière (1822-1887) was a student of Winnerl. He exhibited at the London Exhibition of 1852. In 1867 he was at Le Havre, where he had a small observatory in his home. A fine craftsman, he specialised in magnetic influence on chronometers.
