These lots have been imported from outside the EU … Read more Nasaka Yuko was one of the few female Gutai members, joining in 1963 and remaining until the group's dissolution in 1972. In 1959 she married future fellow Gutai member Nasaka Senkichiro. During her time in Gutai she experimented with new materials and techniques, which was part of a wider interest among artists in the group in technology and modernisation at this time. The 1960s saw rapid economic growth and industrial proliferation, yet also widespread political turmoil, and as a result artists began to express concerns at the speed of change and loss of cultural values.
